Gastronomic journey "Tastes of Kamianets-Podilskyi"

Historical and culinary tour with tastings of traditional dishes of three cultures

Duration: up to 2 hours

Tour dates: specify before booking

Format: theatrical tour + tastings (full lunch)

In the very heart of the Old Town of Kamianets-Podilskyi, near the ancient town hall, you will be met by... not just a guide, but a real resident of past centuries - in medieval clothing, with vivid stories and deep knowledge of the city. Your journey will begin with the era of the founding of Kamianets - when the Lithuanian princes chose these lands as a strategic point at the crossroads of trade routes.

You will learn how Kamianets became a multinational, multicultural center and why it was here that the interests of princes, merchants and warriors intersected. The guide will tell you about the times of the Polish Commonwealth, when the city developed as one of the most important in Podillia, and Polish culture left its mark here - in churches, buildings and ... cuisine.

Next, we go to a restaurant to taste real Polish žurek - fragrant, rich, cooked on sourdough from rye flour. This is not just a dish - it is a symbol of traditional Polish hospitality and centuries-old culinary heritage.

After the tasting, we will walk to the Russian quarters, one of the most interesting parts of the city. Here church bells rang, people spoke Ukrainian, sang Podillia songs and passed down from generation to generation recipes that we are still proud of.

The next tasting is Podillia kotsyurba. This dish is prepared based on cereals, with the addition of vegetables or meat, and has a rich, deep taste - just like Podillia: simple, generous and native. These are the dishes that were once eaten in the villages around Kamianets, and this is the cuisine that ordinary townspeople loved.

At the end of the journey, there is another cultural wave: Ottoman Kamianets. We will remember the times when the city was part of the Ottoman Empire, when pashas walked the streets and coffee was brewed in the courtyards. The final touch is Turkish coffee with a croissant. East and West meet again on one plate - this time on your journey.

What awaits you:
