Free housing for Ukrainians is being prepared in Montenegro: who can apply

Montenegro will soon offer free housing to Ukrainians who need it the most.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro recently approved the procedures that introduce the possibility of free residence in the country. According to the program of temporary protection of Ukrainians, residence will be possible until March 10, 2023.
The Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro reported that refugees will be able to live in the hotels "Sato" in the city of Sutomore (140 places) and "Onogost" in the city of Niksic (90 places). Ukrainians will be accommodated in two-, three-, four- and five-bed rooms with three meals a day. It is important that schools, kindergartens, hospitals and other important institutions are located near the hotels.
Who can live in Montenegro for free?
Only vulnerable categories will be able to use housing:
• Persons who do not have cash savings;
• Those who are not owners of real estate in Montenegro and valuable movable property;
• Those who are not entrepreneurs, founders or members of any companies;
• Unemployed;
• Persons without monthly income.
How to apply?
If you meet the specified criteria, contact the Embassy to submit an application and conduct an interview. Take your foreign passport and confirmation of receiving protection with you.

It should be noted that according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, 6.49 thousand Ukrainians received the status of temporary protection in Montenegro.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
Persons can visit hotels and stay there (outside hotel room) only if they wear respirator or face mask (including homemade mask), so that the nose and mouth are covered.
Hotel guests are obliged to keep the 1.5 meters distance.
Online check-in making in advance is recommended to avoid queues at check-in to hotel.
Meals in hotels are provided through meals delivery service to rooms upon prior order or at hotel restaurants situated inside or in open areas, provided the distance of at least 1.5 meters between seats at adjacent tables.
Not more than 4 clients are allowed to stay at the table (excluding children under 14 years old). Unless these tables are separated by a special partition;
Self-serve is not allowed.
