On February 10, the official opening of the new checkpoint "Dyakivtsi - Rakovec" on the border with Romania took place. We tell you where the new car checkpoint is located and the schedule of work.

How will the Dyakivtsi - Rakovets checkpoint work and who will be able to use it?

The point is located in the Chernivtsi region and will ensure the passage of cars (including buses) and pedestrians around the clock. The first cars have already crossed the border through this checkpoint.

At the first stage, the checkpoint will be open for the passage of empty trucks and tanks, and later, depending on the creation of the necessary infrastructure conditions, for the movement of other types of vehicles and goods.

What is the capacity of the Dyakivtsi - Rakovets checkpoint?

Up to 300 vehicles (including 10 buses and 1,550 citizens) will be able to cross the border during the day.

The point has 6 traffic lanes for cars and 1 lane for people crossing the border on foot.

Features of the new checkpoint on the border with Romania

To ensure control at the checkpoint, a separate unit of border guards was organized, which has undergone appropriate training and is ready to carry out border control of citizens and vehicles.

As you know, the Dyakivtsi checkpoint was built in 2015 as part of a cross-border cooperation grant project. Its value is more than UAH 180 million.

According to the local authorities, the Chernivtsi region needed a new checkpoint due to the long border with Romania.

The new "Dyakivtsi - Rakovets" point will solve the problem of slow border crossing, which became especially acute after the full-scale invasion of russia.

As you know, in November of last year, another checkpoint with Romania was opened - "Krasnoilsk - Vikova de Sus". In just three months of work, the employees of the point registered more than 85,000 people and 34,000 cars. Read more about the checkpoint here.
