Ukraine has appeared before the eyes of the whole world as an indomitable and powerful state that purposefully and mercilessly fights for its freedom. It fully corresponds to today's realities and is fascinating. Since the beginning of the russian federation's full-scale war against Ukraine, not only world-famous politicians, but also many Hollywood stars have visited our country. We tell you which of the celebrities personally visited Ukraine after February 24, 2022.

Sean Penn

Actor and director Sean Penn was in Ukraine more than once during the full-scale war. He came to Kyiv on the eve of February 24, 2022, and witnessed the beginning of the "great war", even then Sean Penn supported Ukraine in resisting russian aggression.

The movie star was in Ukraine for the second time in the summer of 2022, when he visited Bucha and Irpin to see with his own eyes the consequences of the Russian occupation. And in the fall, he visited Kyiv again, where he met with President Zelenskyy and handed him his Oscar statuette - as a symbol of faith in Ukraine's victory.

Sean Penn also created a charity organization to help Ukraine, repeatedly called on the world community to support Ukrainians in the struggle, and also filmed a documentary film about the war of the russian federation against Ukraine. The screening of the film, the filming of which began in 2021, is scheduled for the anniversary of russia's full-scale armed attack on Ukraine.

Angelina Jolie

The movie star visited Lviv in April 2022. The actress is a goodwill ambassador of UNICEF and her visit was dedicated to children affected by russian armed aggression. Jolie visited a children's hospital, a center for children and youth with disabilities, talked with families of evacuees and volunteers, and also met an evacuation train at the Lviv railway station.

"I witnessed the resilience, courage and dignity of the Ukrainian people in the face of the terror and trauma of a war they did not choose. The impact of war on generations of Ukrainian children is devastating. No child should have to leave their homes, witness the killing of their loved ones, suffer through shelling and destruction of houses", - Jolie commented on her visit.

In addition, the actress was spotted in one of the coffee shops in the city - the photo and video went viral on social networks. And the shot with the boy, who was busy with his mobile phone and did not notice the movie star behind him, quickly became a meme.

Cary Fukunaga

Director Cary Fukunaga also visited Ukraine in the spring. He arrived with a humanitarian mission and visited many Ukrainian cities, including Lviv, Kyiv, Bucha, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk.

During his stay in Ukraine, the director filmed and photographed people and Ukrainian cities and posted it on his Instagram. He told the stories of people affected by the war and showed the destruction of cities. In Kharkiv, he witnessed the russian army shelling the city center.

Ben Stiller

In the summer of 2022, actor Ben Stiller visited Lviv, Kyiv and two small towns near the capital - Irpin and Makariv; he came to Ukraine as a UNHCR goodwill ambassador. Stiller spoke with Ukrainians who were forced to flee their homes because of the war and visited towns destroyed by the russian army.

"I saw the destruction and communicated with civilians... If you could see with your own eyes the consequences of this unjust aggression, the scale of the destruction and mental suffering, there would be no question of helping the Ukrainian people at this time", - this is how the actor commented on his visit to Ukraine.

Jessica Chastain

The actress visited Kyiv in August 2022, where she visited a children's hospital where war victims are treated. Jessica Chastain also visited Irpin, liberated from the russian invaders.

"The children impressed me with their hope and strength. Many of them left their homes and spent these months in the hospital. A huge humanitarian crisis is ongoing in Ukraine. We cannot forget the innocent victims of senseless acts of violence. I will always be grateful that I met these sweet little children with big brave hearts", - the actress commented on her visit to the children's hospital.

Bo Willimon

In April 2022, the American playwright and screenwriter Bo Willimon, known for his work on the series "House of Cards", came to Ukraine to shoot a documentary film about the war crimes of the Russian army in the Kyiv region.

His tape "will include the experiences of ordinary people who were forced to face the invasion."

"We saw Borodyanka, Bucha - the incredible scale of devastation and losses that people had to deal with. All this had a powerful emotional impact on me," he said after his visit to Ukraine.

Liev Schreiber

American actor, director, screenwriter and producer Liev Schreiber first prepared borscht for immigrants at the border in Przemyśl as a volunteer of the World Central Kitchen charity organization, and then came to Lviv.

There he was caught by an air alarm and later on his Instagram, Liev published a video of how he went down to the shelter.

"When I was inside Ukraine, it was incredible for me to see the incredible resilience and courage of Ukrainians. I believe that putin made his biggest mistake", - Schreiber emphasized on the air of the American show Morning Joe.

Jack Gleason

The Irish actor, known for his role as King Joffrey from the TV series "Game of Thrones", came to Kyiv in early February 2023.

Gleason visited the Ukrainian capital for the first time for several days. The actor held master classes and workshops on acting skills.

In addition, Jack met with Ukrainian servicemen, gave them a car and took part in charity fundraisers and auctions in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
