Ukrainian immigrants will be able to enjoy temporary protection in the United States until April 19, 2025.
"Russia's ongoing military invasion of Ukraine and the resulting humanitarian crisis require the United States to continue to provide safety and security to Ukrainians who may not be able to return to their country," said U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.
In addition, the IDP support program will be expanded. The country will provide an opportunity to apply for temporary protection to Ukrainian citizens who were in the United States as of August 16, 2023.
Also, students from Ukraine studying in the United States on an F-1 visa will be able to obtain a work permit. This will allow them to reduce their course load without losing their visa during the period of temporary protection.

Currently, more than 26 thousand Ukrainians enjoy temporary protection status in the United States, and more than 166 thousand others may be eligible for it.
