What will be the minimum wage in 2024?

Next year's minimum wage is set out in a new draft law passed by the Verkhovna Rada. In particular, it is planned to increase the subsistence minimum, which will significantly affect the amount of benefits, minimum wage and pension. Find out more about what the minimum wage will be in 2024

The government has approved the draft law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2024". According to the document, the minimum wage, social assistance and pensions are expected to increase next year.


Increase in the subsistence minimum in 2024


Starting from January 1, the subsistence minimum will increase by UAH 331, reaching UAH 2,920 per person per month. The new subsistence minimum amounts will be as follows


• for children under 6 years old - UAH 2,563;

• for children from 6 to 18 years old - UAH 3,196;

• for able-bodied persons - UAH 3,028;

• for persons who have lost their ability to work - UAH 2,361.

In addition, an additional amount of the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons was approved, which is used to determine


• the base salary of a judge - UAH 2,102;

• salaries of employees of tax and customs authorities and other state bodies - UAH 2102;

• the salary of a prosecutor of the district prosecutor's office - UAH 1600.

The minimum wage will increase significantly in 2024


 The increase in the subsistence minimum will also have an impact on the growth of the minimum wage:


• from January 1 - UAH 7100, and from April 1 - UAH 8000 for the monthly salary;

• from January 1 - UAH 42.6, and from April 1 - UAH 48 for hourly wages.
