Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine and the threat of rocket attacks throughout the country, the cost of renting a home has not decreased but continues to grow in some regions. Thus, Dim.Ria, a real estate marketplace, and Work.ua, a job search site, conducted a study to find out what part of the salary Ukrainians have to spend on rent and in which regions of the country it is most profitable to live.

The article below describes the results of the study and in which cities Ukrainians have to pay 80% of their salary for renting an apartment.

Who finds it easiest to rent an apartment in Ukraine?

The study also analyzed how easy it is to rent an apartment in Ukraine for people with one of the ten most popular professions.

Thus, in Kyiv, it is easiest for sales managers to rent an apartment - 52% of the average income (UAH 30,000), and the hardest for bartenders, baristas, pickers and loaders - 94% of the average income (UAH 16,500).

In Kharkiv, it is most difficult to rent housing for cashiers in stores, as the share of rent in the average income is 43%.

In Odesa, drivers spend the smallest part of their salary on housing - 31%, and bartenders and baristas spend the largest part - more than 50%.

And in Lviv, the rent turned out to be unaffordable for almost all representatives of the professions, as they have to pay from 50% to 96% of their income for housing.

At the same time, professionals from Kharkiv and Odesa had the highest rental capacity. However, the only category of employees for whom renting an apartment is not a problem at all were and still are IT workers.
