The Japanese government has initiated a new program to support foreigners who have been forced to leave their homes due to military conflicts but do not meet the criteria for refugee status established by Japan. This was reported by NHK.

Under the new program, which began on December 1, foreigners and displaced persons will receive recognition of their rights to equality with refugees.
Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that this program primarily concerns "people from Ukraine".
The program participants will have the opportunity to participate in Japanese language courses and adaptation programs for life in Japan.
In addition, foreigners who take advantage of the innovation will be able to receive financial support in accordance with the law.
The Immigration Services Agency emphasized that the Japanese government plans to provide the maximum possible assistance and guarantee the effective implementation of the program for those who lost their homes due to the war.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
Persons can visit hotels and stay there (outside hotel room) only if they wear respirator or face mask (including homemade mask), so that the nose and mouth are covered.
Hotel guests are obliged to keep the 1.5 meters distance.
Online check-in making in advance is recommended to avoid queues at check-in to hotel.
Meals in hotels are provided through meals delivery service to rooms upon prior order or at hotel restaurants situated inside or in open areas, provided the distance of at least 1.5 meters between seats at adjacent tables.
