Submitting meter readings is necessary so that the energy supply company can compare them with the amount of payment for the electricity used.

It is important to note that the amount of electricity consumed is determined by the billing period, which is one calendar month.

DTEK reminded Ukrainians what they should pay attention to when reporting electricity meter data in order not to accumulate a large debt.

How to submit meter readings correctly?

Consumers are advised to submit data two days before the end of the current calendar month or within 1-3 days of the next month. In case of a delay in submitting the readings, the data for the 1st day is calculated based on the average daily consumption.

As for the methods of data transmission, this can be done through the personal account on the company's website, by calling the call center at the specified contacts, or through chatbots (Viber, Telegram, Facebook Messenger).

In case of errors in data transmission, the following situations are possible:

• The meter is disconnected: Electricity supply is disconnected in case of debt or at the request of the supplier.

• Meter is missing: Information about the meter is not available in the system, which can happen, for example, when installing a meter in a new building. You should try to enter the readings in a few days.

• Consumption value is too high: The reported consumption exceeds the limit set for the account. If this data is correct, you should send a photo of the meter to e-mail.

• Readings are lower than the previous ones: The transmitted readings are lower than those recorded in the system. If you are sure that they are correct, it is recommended to send a photo of the meter to the specified e-mail.

• Error during the transmission of readings: Errors may occur due to temporary unavailability of the software. In this case, you should try to re-transmit the readings later.

We remind you! Earlier we wrote that the government has decided to lift the moratorium on disconnecting electricity supply to Ukrainians for non-payment of utility bills. Read more about how fines will be charged for unpaid utility bills and what Ukrainians abroad should do in our article.
