Is it safe to go to Transcarpathia in war conditions?

Transcarpathia is the only region of Ukraine where there is no curfew today. Also, there are no strategic enterprises in the region, so russian missiles flew here only once, in the spring of 2022.

Considering the above, the Transcarpathian region can currently be considered one of the safest in Ukraine.

What to see in Transcarpathia?

● Mukachevo is the soul of Transcarpathia, one of the most picturesque cities of Ukraine, famous for its unique history. The city, surrounded by mountains, contains many monuments of the Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque eras.

Although the first written mention of Mukachevo dates back to 1393, the oldest archaeological finds date back to the Paleolithic era (40,000-10,000 BC).

It is best to start your acquaintance with Mukachevo from the center. Its main decoration is the city hall, built at the beginning of the 20th century. This elegant building is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful town halls in Europe. Also during the walk you should visit the Cathedral Church of St. Martin, the Gothic Chapel of St. Joseph, decorated with medieval paintings and the Rakoczi Palace, well known as the "white house".

● Palanok Castle is the main attraction of Mukachevo and the pearl of the Transcarpathian region. It is located at a height of 68 m on an inactive volcano and occupies a huge area of almost 14 thousand square meters. The exact date of the foundation of the castle is one of the mysteries that no one has been able to solve to this day. It is reliably known that in the period from 1396 to 1414 Palanok Castle belonged to Prince Fedor Koriatovych, many know him as the founder of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle. Today, there are historical and local history museums, painting and carving exhibitions are held here.

● Kosino is a resort in Zakarpattia region known for its thermal waters. The complex "Thermal waters of Kosyno" is located in the village of Kosyno, 38 km from Mukachevo and 22 km from the thermal resort of Berehove.

There are 7 thermal pools in Kosino for treatment, and there is a children's pool and attractions for children. Guests can also relax in the saunas, salt room, hammam, ice cave and restaurant.

Kosino thermal water has a general health-improving effect on the body, filling it with necessary microelements and is used for the treatment of diseases, primarily of the musculoskeletal system.

● House of Tastings "Chateau Chyzay" - a winery that was founded in 1995 in the city of Berehove (Chyzay tract, No. 1). It owns 272 hectares of vineyards in three districts of the region and is the leading wine producer in the region.

The Chateau Chizay company is the heir to the ancient history of viticulture and winemaking in Ukraine and the region. At the same time, it actively implements innovations, conducts creative experiments and introduces products that meet global trends.

In recent years, the winery has won medals from the most prestigious and strict international competitions - Decanter and London Wine Competition, Paris Wine Cup, Japan Wine Challenge, etc.

Chateau Chizay brand wines are exported to 21 countries around the world: from the USA to Japan, from Norway to Singapore, and this list also includes wine-producing countries such as Italy and France.

Thanks to the wealth of the Transcarpathian region, a trip here will impress even the most demanding travelers. Therefore, we invite tourists to relax not only body, but also soul in the new tour "Spring relaxation in Transcarpathia", during which you will be able to learn all the secrets of Palanok Castle, listen to the interesting stories of the guide in Mukachevo, relax in real Carpathian thermal baths and taste incredibly delicious Carpathian wine.
