The Polish Sejm has registered a draft law that aims to allow trading on a day off - Sunday. This was reported by yavp.pl.

We will tell you what important changes in the work of Polish stores are proposed further in the article.

Poland plans to return Sunday shopping: details

One of the features of life in Poland that surprises Ukrainians is closed shops and supermarkets on weekends.

In particular, representatives of the Polska 2050 political movement, who presented the relevant bill, argue that this will be a compromise between people's desire to shop on Sunday and the interests of trade workers.

According to the document, store employees will be paid double the rate for working on Sunday. Also, their rights to rest will be guaranteed by providing a day off for the next 6 days before or after the Sunday when they work. If they are unable to take advantage of this, employees must be granted a day off until the end of the pay period.

The authors of the draft law claim that the introduction of two shopping Sundays per month will lead to a 4% increase in store revenue.

In addition, the operation of stores on additional days off will help reduce the amount of wasted food.

These proposed changes meet the needs of residents of small towns and villages, where people often have to take time off during the week to go shopping in stores that are several tens of kilometers away from their homes.

We remind you! The Polish government has extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees and set new terms of legal stay. The decision was made in the context of continuing support and protection for Ukrainian citizens who were forced to seek asylum.
