According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, more than 4,500 local residents have already been evacuated from the region, in particular because of the intensified shelling by russia. We will tell you who and which settlements are being evacuated forcibly and who is providing assistance to civilians in the article below.


In which settlements of the Kharkiv region has the evacuation of the population been announced?


As of May 14, evacuation was introduced in several districts, namely: 


– Chuguevsky district

– Bohodukhiv district

– Kharkiv district.


In addition, the evacuation continues in Kupiansk and Izium districts. In total, according to Mr. Syniehubov, there are about 25 such settlements. 


Who is subject to forced evacuation?


Forced evacuation primarily concerns children who:


– are orphans;

– are deprived of parental care;

– live in directly dangerous areas.

How is the evacuation from Kharkiv region going?


The evacuation of the local population is organized by the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the National Police, the State Emergency Service and volunteers.


"Psychologists of the State Emergency Service are constantly working on the ground and providing support to people who are forced to leave their homes due to active hostilities. Currently, more than 4,500 people have been evacuated from the border settlements of Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv and Kharkiv districts of the region," the SES said in a statement.


All evacuated citizens are being provided with assistance, in particular, in obtaining the status of an evacuee and other legal issues, as well as humanitarian aid and temporary housing.


In addition, as Yaryna Vintoniuk, a representative of the Kharkiv Animal Rescue NGO, told Evacuation.City, the evacuation of animals continues in frontline settlements. As of May 13, 206 animals have been rescued.

Evacuation of people with limited mobility: Helping to leave


In addition, free evacuation is provided by the NGO Helping to leave. Volunteers help people with limited mobility and bedridden people to leave, as well as provide support in finding accommodation and buying tickets.

Evacuation with animals: Kharkiv Animal Rescue organization


You can apply for the evacuation of animals from the frontline settlements of the Kharkiv region by calling +38 095 497 81 95 - Nadiia (Viber / Telegram / What's Up). You can find more information about the organization's activities on their Instagram page.
