US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gave an interview to American billionaire Elon Musk. The conversation was broadcast on social network X, where Trump "left" a few years ago and returned the day before the interview. Here's what they talked about and how they mentioned Ukraine.

The long conversation between the potential US president and the businessman touched on various topics, including the war that russia is waging against Ukraine.

What did Trump say about Ukraine?

First of all, Trump reiterated that there would have been no large-scale invasion by the russian army if it had not been for the current US President Joe Biden. At the same time, he noted that during his presidency, putin did not dare to invade Ukraine.

"But I told him not to do it. You can't do it, Vladimir," he said of how he dissuaded putin from invading.

According to Trump, he warned putin about the consequences that America could create for russia in the event of a war with Ukraine. The russian dictator, according to Trump, did not believe it.

The potential president of the United States added that he would like to get along with putin, as he did during his first term. He also recalled that he had a normal relationship with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

In addition, in his interview, Trump criticised Europe, which, according to him, provided less aid to Ukraine than the United States. And in this statement, Trump was exposed as a liar.

Trump lied at least 20 times in his interview with Musk

After the interview, CNN, which is known for its pro-democracy views, estimated that Trump lied at least 20 times in his conversation with Musk.

In one of his statements, he said that the United States had allocated $250 billion, while European countries had only allocated $71 billion. In fact, Europe has provided Ukraine with approximately $205 billion in military, financial and humanitarian aid, while the United States has provided about $108 billion.

Also, most of the false statements made by the Republican presidential candidate have been debunked many times before. The fakes concerned migration policy, the economy, foreign policy, and the actions of Trump as president and his opponent Kamala Harris.

For example, Trump said that "our crime rate is through the roof". However, in fact, in 2024, there were fewer crimes compared to last year. He also unreasonably stated that "we have the highest inflation in the last 100 years. They say it's been 48 years, I don't believe it." However, the highest inflation rate - 9.1% - was in 2022. Previously, this happened in 1981, 40 years before. But then this level went down sharply, which Trump did not mention.

Trump also denies the relevance of global warming, arguing that the nuclear threat is a more real problem. The global sea level is now rising much faster than the Republican candidate claimed. And the problem of global warming is already causing more and longer floods and stronger hurricanes.

Trump lied even about how many people were watching the online broadcast of his conversation with Musk. He claimed that "about 60 million or so people" were watching their conversation, but in fact there were only 1.1 million viewers and listeners.

We remind you! In the US elections, Trump's opponent will be Kamala Harris, who has become the new hope of the Democrats in the US presidential race. We discuss whether she can win and what her chances are, as well as her attitude to Ukraine and what it could mean for her campaign here.
