How to get to Ukraine from India in 2024: convenient routes, entry rules and useful tips
In 2024, there will be no restrictions on entry into Ukraine for foreigners. However, the airspace still remains closed, so the travel route should be planned in advance. Find out how to get to Ukraine from India and what border crossing rules are relevant this year
In the conditions of the current martial law, foreigners continue to visit Ukraine. According to official sources, more than 2.4 million foreigners entered the country in 2023 alone, including 5,068 Indian citizens. Considering that world powers are gradually relaxing recommendations for their citizens regarding trips to Ukraine, in particular, Great Britain has already allowed to visit certain regions of the country if necessary, we can safely assume that in 2024 the number of tourists will be even higher.
However, in closed airspace, traveling to Ukraine has its own characteristics. It is also necessary to observe certain safety rules during the trip.

Rules of entry for citizens of India to Ukraine in 2024
To enter Ukraine, citizens of India need to issue a short-term visa (type C). This visa is issued to foreigners whose stay does not exceed 90 days in a 180-day period. It can be designed for single, double or multiple entry. Visa type C is most often issued for the purpose of tourism, for business trips or private visits.
Where to issue visa?
To apply for a visa, it is necessary to apply to a foreign diplomatic institution of Ukraine with a complete package of documents no earlier than 3 months before the start of the planned trip.
Documents required to obtain a visa to Ukraine
1. Passport valid for at least 3 months after the planned trip to Ukraine.
2. Visa application form.
3. Medical insurance with coverage in the amount of at least 30,000 euros valid on the territory of Ukraine.
4. Information on the availability of a sufficient amount of funds for a stay in Ukraine (bank account statements, salary certificate, ATM receipts, etc.).
5. One photo 35x45 mm.
6. A document confirming the payment of the visa fee ($65).
7. A document confirming the purpose of the trip to Ukraine.
How to confirm the purpose of entering Ukraine?
To justify the purpose of entry, use one of the following documents:
- a notarized invitation from citizens of Ukraine - relatives, acquaintances, friends, etc.;
- hotel reservations, apartment rental contracts;
- invitations/tickets to seminars, exhibitions, fairs;
- documents on treatment in medical facilities;
- written confirmation of a meeting, conference, etc.;
