Fastiv. History at every step


The first stop on the way from Kyiv to Khmelnytskyi may be Fastiv, a city 70 km from the capital. Fastiv is known for its rich historical past, including its role in the creation of the Ukrainian People's Republic. Among the local attractions is the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, one of the most beautiful in the region, built in the Neo-Gothic style.




In addition, Fastiv is worth visiting the Unification Car Museum, which is a symbol of the unification of the UPR and ZUNR, and Fastiv Park, where you can stroll along the alleys and enjoy nature. Also in Fastiv, pay attention to the Holy Intercession Church, which is located in the forest on the outskirts of the city. The church is a vivid example of the Ukrainian architectural style of the XVIII century and attracts tourists with its original design and harmony with nature.

Zhytomyr. Stone bridge and museum of cosmonautics


Continuing along the E40 highway, 120 km from Kyiv, you will reach Zhytomyr, a city known for its space history and picturesque nature. In Zhytomyr, be sure to visit the S.P. Korolev Museum of Cosmonautics, which contains exhibits dedicated to space exploration, as well as unique artifacts of the space age.




Another interesting place in Zhytomyr is the Stone Bridge over the Teteriv River, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding forests and river valleys.

Berdychiv. The city of ancient monasteries


On your way from Kyiv to Khmelnytskyi, stop by Berdychiv, which is located 40 km from Zhytomyr. In addition to the famous Ukrainian brewery, this city is also known for its ancient Catholic monastery. The Carmelite Monastery and Fortress, which is both a religious shrine and a historical monument, is the main tourist attraction of the city.




The monastery impresses with its architecture and is a place of pilgrimage. In addition, you can walk around the historic center of the city and visit the Museum of Joseph Conrad, a prominent writer who was born in Berdychiv.

Starokonstantyniv. Castle of the Princes of Ostroh


Driving on the M21 highway, about 80 km from Berdychiv, you will get to Starokonstantyniv, where you should stop at the Castle of the Princes of Ostroh. This 16th-century fortress impresses with its well-preserved appearance and allows you to plunge into the Middle Ages.




In addition to the castle itself, you can explore the old buildings and bastions on the territory, which tell about the rich history of these places.

Medobor. Get in touch with nature


The Medobory Nature Reserve, located near Starokonstantyniv, is a unique place where you can enjoy the natural beauty of Podillia.




Medobory is part of an ancient mountain range where rare flora and fauna have been preserved. Here you will find hiking trails that lead through forests and natural viewpoints with breathtaking views that will help you recharge your batteries during your trip.

Medzhybizh. Medzhybizh Fortress - a grandiose architectural heritage


The last, but one of the most impressive stops on the way to Khmelnytskyi can be the village of Medzhybizh, located 30 km from the regional center. It is home to the Medzhybizh Fortress, one of the oldest and largest in Ukraine.




Its history dates back to the XIII century, and today the fortress is a museum and one of the most interesting tourist attractions in the region. Visiting the fortress, you will not only enjoy the unique views, but also learn more about the history of this place.
