According to Dmytro Musienko, Member of the Management Board in charge of Retail Banking, PrivatBank, in cooperation with Mastercard, became the first Ukrainian bank to provide customers with the opportunity to withdraw cash outside the country without additional fees from foreign acquiring banks. Here is how to withdraw cash abroad using a PrivatBank card.

Advantages of the service and its popularity

We are talking about withdrawing cash at the cash registers of stores when buying goods. According to Dmytro Musienko, this service initially became very popular in Ukraine, where cash withdrawals at the cash desks of ATB and other large retail chains are now actively used in all major Ukrainian cities.

With regard to cash withdrawals abroad, this solution also saves time and avoids additional costs for fees that often arise when withdrawing cash through ATMs of foreign banks.

“Now customers can easily withdraw cash at the cash desk not only in Ukraine but also abroad,” Musienko said. This important innovation is especially useful for those who travel frequently or stay abroad for a long time, as they can withdraw funds in familiar and locally convenient stores without having to search for ATMs.

How does the Privat cash withdrawal service work abroad?

In order to use the service abroad, a customer just needs to pay with a Mastercard from PrivatBank at a relevant outlet. All you need to do is ask the cashier or check with the security guard or store administrator in advance whether this option is supported in their establishment. This approach provides maximum convenience, avoiding unnecessary steps related to finding an ATM, which can be problematic in unfamiliar cities or countries.

Where do PrivatBank clients withdraw cash most often?

The service is especially popular among Ukrainian clients in Germany and Poland. In Germany, cash can be withdrawn at the cash desks of such well-known retail chains as Netto Marken-Discount, Dm-drogerie markt, Aldi, Norma and GLOBUS Markthalle. In Poland, a similar service is available in Delikatesy Center, Biedronka, Orlen, Lewiatan and Zabka stores.
