What types of insurance are available for foreigners?
The Visit Ukraine portal offers several types of insurance policies:
Medical insurance with war risk coverage
War risk insurance has no age restrictions and can be taken out for people with disabilities. This insurance is suitable for short-term trips - from 3 to 180 days and visa applications. Insurance with war risk coverage has two packages:
1. Armor 30 000 EUR;
2. Armor 100 000 UAH.
The cost of insurance depends on the chosen package and ranges from 2.64 € to 3.18 € per day.
Basic medical insurance
Basic medical insurance is suitable for travelers aged 18 to 70 years. Persons with disabilities can use this type of insurance on a general basis, i.e. chronic disability diseases will not be covered. You can take out insurance for a period of 3 to 180 days. The website offers three packages of such insurance:
1. Covid-19 coverage (coverage amount 100,000 UAH) - suitable for travel;
2. EUR 30,000 coverage (the amount of coverage is 30,000 EUR) - suitable for travel and visa;
3. Safe Travel (coverage amount 250,000 UAH) - suitable for travel (and additionally covers injuries and damages caused by military operations).
The cost of insurance also depends on the chosen package and can be as follows: €0.36, €0.80 or €1.2 per day.
Medical insurance Plus
Medical Insurance Plus has extended coverage and offers more protection for travelers. This insurance is available to foreigners aged 18 to 70 years. As in the previous case, people with disabilities can use the insurance on a general basis. There are four insurance packages to choose from on the website:
1. Silver/Platinum/Gold packages - can be issued for a period of 7 to 180 days. They have the same amount of coverage - EUR 30,000, but cover different insured events and have different indemnity limits. These packages are suitable for travel and visas.
2. Armor + Year of Protection package - is an annual policy covering military risks, specially designed for residence permit applications. It can be issued only for 365 days, and the amount of coverage in this package is UAH 120,000.
The cost of insurance depends on the chosen package: for Silver, Platinum, and Gold insurance, the price ranges from €1.5 to €4 per day, and an annual policy for a residence permit costs 18,971₴/year.
