A new automobile checkpoint “Nyzhankovychi - Malkhovychi” will be opened on the Ukrainian-Polish border. It will reduce the load on existing crossings, improve logistics, and boost exports. Learn more about the prospects of a new transport corridor between Ukraine and Poland
On December 20, 2024, a new automobile checkpoint “Nyzhankovychi - Malkhovychi” will start operating on the Ukrainian-Polish border. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.
Another checkpoint will be opened on the border with Poland by the end of the year: what is known
At a meeting of the governments of Ukraine and Poland on December 17, an agreement was approved that allowed the creation of this important infrastructure facility.
The new crossing point will accept both passenger and freight vehicles, and pedestrian traffic is planned to start after the construction of the necessary infrastructure is completed.
According to Denys Shmyhal, the opening of this checkpoint will reduce the load on existing border crossings and help expand the opportunities for Ukrainian exports.
“This is another step in the development of trade and economic ties between Ukraine and Poland,” the Prime Minister said.
Currently, there is a temporary corridor at the site of the future checkpoint, which allows only empty trucks weighing more than 7.5 tons to pass through. The new crossing will significantly improve logistics and mobility between the two countries.
The new crossing point is located in the Sambir district of Lviv region and will become a key transport hub for international transportation.
