In 2024, Ukraine continued to amaze with its achievements. Regions set unique records in the fields of economy, agriculture, social development, infrastructure, and even wartime. This was reported by slovoidilo.ua.
Let's take a look at the most striking ones.
Agriculture - leaders of harvests
Ukraine continues to be a global agricultural leader, and each region has contributed to this status:
Zhytomyr region has become a major hop producer: 75% of the country's hop plantations are concentrated here. The region also has the only plant with certified production of hop pellets.
TheVolyn region ranked first in terms of the number of beef cattle - 9,000 heads, which is 20% of the total in Ukraine.
Kirovograd region harvested a record 1.3 million tons of sunflower.
Odesa region became the leader in wheat production, harvesting 2.8 million tons.
Khmelnytsky region had a record soybean harvest of 828.3 thousand tons.
Chernihiv region harvested the most corn - 3.3 million tons.

Infrastructure and social initiatives
Ternopil region set a record for the number of Action Centers opened - 17.
For the second year in a row,Kyiv region became the leader of the Active Parks - Locations of Healthy Ukraine project.
Rivne region became the first to develop Resilience Centers - 9 centers are currently operating, and 13 more are planned to be opened.
Economic achievements
Ivano-Frankivsk region became a record holder in terms of the value of agricultural land - UAH 90.2 thousand per hectare, which is almost twice the national average.
Vinnytsia region grew the most coniferous trees for sale - 208,500 pieces.
Chernivtsi region had the lowest expenditures on the regional military administration - only UAH 221.5 million.
Zaporizhzhia region had the largest defense fund - UAH 2.2 billion, which is 20% of the region's consolidated budget.
Social records
Donetsk region set a record for the price of diesel fuel at 55 UAH per liter.
Zakarpattia had the most expensive rental housing - 12 thousand hryvnias for a one-room apartment.
Kherson region, on the other hand, had the cheapest rent - only 2.9 thousand hryvnias.
In Cherkasy region, employers were compensated UAH 14.7 million for hiring people with disabilities.
Energy and emergencies
Poltava region became the leader in gas production.
Luhansk region has the longest air alert - more than 1,000 days.
Sumy region has the longest fortified border section - 560 km.
Cultural and religious changes
Lviv region became the first to completely eliminate the communities of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate - from 66 to 0.
The year 2024 was another confirmation that even in the most difficult times, Ukrainian regions are capable of achieving significant results in various areas, from agriculture and the economy to social initiatives and defense programs. Each region makes its own unique contribution to the development of the country, demonstrating resilience, perseverance and a desire to recover. These records are not only about numbers, but also about the strength of spirit of Ukrainians who continue to work for the good of the country despite all the challenges.
