Surname change, AI assistant and more: what new services will soon be available in Diia

This year, Diia wants to increase the number of services and functions that will simplify social processes. Find out what exactly they plan to implement in the app

The head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, has announced new services to be launched in the Diia app this year. This is stated in the press service of the app.

Integration of artificial intelligence

One of the priorities for the coming year is the total integration of artificial intelligence into all projects, and Diia is no exception. The AI chatbot Natalka is already in operation, optimising communication with potential partners who want to integrate the platform's services. Over the three months of its operation, the chatbot has processed more than 1,400 requests, taking care of basic integration issues. After choosing a scenario for communicating with a partner, the process is transferred to a real specialist, making communication more efficient and convenient.

In addition to the chatbot, the company plans to introduce a full-fledged AI assistant. For example, users will be able to shake the phone to send feedback or solve problems that arise when interacting with government services. This feature will become a tool of direct democracy, allowing citizens to report difficulties promptly and high-ranking officials to receive feedback in real time.

A revolution for drivers

The cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs heralds a real revolution in the field of services for drivers. ‘Diia already offers relevant functions, from car sharing to paying fines. However, it plans to digitise up to 90% of services for motorists. Among the innovations:

Car re-registration. Expanding opportunities and simplifying the procedure for changing vehicle registration.

Changing the technical passport. The ability to update the data entered in the technical passport.

Accounting of number plates and car registration after customs clearance. New features that significantly reduce time and bureaucratic burden.

eConsul

About 7.9 million Ukrainians live abroad, and the government is doing everything possible to ensure that their connection with their homeland remains as simple and convenient as possible. In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Diia is preparing to digitise consular services. In the future, Ukrainians will be able to:

▪️ Order a passport, ID card, driver's licence or tax card online.

▪️ Receive ready-made documents at the place of residence, without having to return to Ukraine.

▪️ Use a comprehensive service for registering the birth of a child abroad.

This will significantly reduce waiting time and the number of trips to consular offices.

eNotary

The Ministry of Justice and the Notary Chamber are jointly launching a project to digitise notaries. The initiative is creating a single electronic system that integrates all notarial processes. More than 200 notaries have already tested the updated Register of Powers of Attorney and the Electronic Register of Notarial Acts. The pilot project will include the launch of notarial services via video communication with a notary. In the future, the list of services will be expanded to include:

- Conclusion of marriage contracts,

- Execution of donation agreements,

- Sale and purchase agreements and other notarial transactions.

Development of Diia.Karta

Launched last year, Diia.Card already allows you to receive payments for a number of services, such as eBooks and programmes for sports veterans. In the near future, we plan to transfer payments under the eSupport programme to Diia.Card, and later expand the list of government benefits, making the card a convenient and versatile tool for financial transactions with government services.

Change of surname

One of the most anticipated novelties will be the service of comprehensive reissuance of documents in case of a surname change. In today's realities, whether it is marriage, divorce or other changes to personal data, citizens have to visit various government agencies to renew their ID cards, passports, driving licences and other documents. The new service in Diia will make this process as simple as possible - just a few clicks will be enough to make all the necessary changes in electronic databases, and citizens will be free from long waits and trips.

Digitalisation of death-related services

In addition to the innovations described above, the government is actively working on the digitalisation of services related to the death of loved ones. As part of the project, it is planned to:

▪️ Obtaining a medical death certificate,

▪️ State registration of the fact of death,

▪️ Automatic data transfer to the relevant registers,

▪️ Registration of a burial allowance.

This service is designed to relieve the emotional and bureaucratic burden on citizens in one of the most difficult moments of life.
