Ukrainians are an educated nation. According to the latest data, about 80% of young Ukrainians have a higher education, which is a high result.

It was on the territory of modern Ukraine that one of the first educational institutions in Eastern Europe appeared - Ostroh Academy. The university continues to work in our time, it is located in the city of Ostrog, Rivne region.

The Euroeducation Center for International Projects in partnership with the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence international expert group published a ranking of the best universities in Ukraine. The list was created taking into account the impact on educational processes of the Covid-19 epidemic and the full-scale war in Ukraine, therefore:

1st place – Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko

2nd place - National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"

3rd place – Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin

The international ranking of the best universities in the world QS WORLD University Rankings 2023 includes 1,500 educational institutions, of which 11 are Ukrainian:

1st place – Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin, he ranks from 541 to 550 in the world. However, the university is located in Kharkiv, which is constantly under fire.

2nd place and 3rd place – Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", they occupy between 651 and 701 positions.

For example, at Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, the number of licensed places is 15,134, and 31,758 applications were submitted. However, depending on the specialty, the degree of competition is different, in some places it is not there at all, and sometimes the competition can be quite high.
