The “Personal Account” service has gone live on the official website of the State Border Guard Service, allowing citizens to instantly check for themselves whether they are subject to any temporary restrictions on traveling abroad. The check is performed in real time — no lines, no paper requests, and no weeks-long wait.

What exactly can be checked, and what restrictions does the service not show?

“Personal Account” provides information exclusively on temporary restrictions imposed based on court decisions or rulings by the State Enforcement Service. These include debts — child support, fines, and other obligations — whose enforcement is ensured through enforcement proceedings.

Restrictions related to martial law — specifically those concerning men aged 18 to 60 or individuals subject to paragraph 214 of the Rules for Crossing the State Border, approved by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 57 of July 21, 1995 are not displayed in the system and are verified according to separate rules.

All data in the system is protected in accordance with the Law “On the Protection of Personal Data.”

Who needs this service the most?

Most often, parents who evade child support payments face exit restrictions. According to Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Procedure for the Departure from and Entry into Ukraine of Ukrainian Citizens,” departure may be temporarily restricted if a person evades compliance with a court decision or has child support arrears confirmed by a ruling of the enforcement service.

The service is also useful for those who plan international trips in advance, work abroad and frequently cross the border, or have relatives outside Ukraine and want to play it safe before leaving.

If you’re planning a trip in your own car, don’t forget about the Green Card — an international auto insurance policy required for entry into most European countries. You can conveniently apply for it online via the Visit Ukraine platform.

How the “Personal Account” works: a step-by-step guide

The service is available on the State Border Guard Service portal at cabinet.dpsu.gov.ua and operates 24/7 from any device — smartphone, tablet, or computer.

The process is simple:

1. Registration — via electronic signature: id.gov.ua, Diya.Signature, BankID, or KEP.

2. Authorization — log in to your personal account on the State Border Guard Service portal.

3. Real-time verification — the system automatically cross-checks the data against the State Border Guard Service databases.

4. Result — one of two statuses appears instantly: “No restrictions” or “There is a temporary restriction.”

What has changed compared to the previous procedure?

Previously, obtaining similar information was only possible through a written request to the State Border Guard Service’s Main Center for Processing Special Information — by mail or in person. Responses took several weeks to arrive. Now, the same check takes seconds, is available 24/7, and requires no physical visits.

The State Border Guard Service emphasizes: the service does not lift existing restrictions, but it allows users to quickly identify them and take timely measures to resolve them — before a person arrives directly at the border.

The launch of the “Personal Account” is part of a large-scale digital transformation of Ukraine’s border service.

We remind you! EU countries have begun temporarily abandoning the EES biometric control system due to massive lines at the borders. Read where passport stamps are being used again and what this means.
