The Ukrainian airline SkyUp™ has launched a social initiative called “Wings of Gratitude” — a special program for combatants and veterans that allows them to purchase airline tickets for a symbolic price of 1 euro plus airport fees. This was reported by UNIAN.

Airport fees typically range from 10 to 50 euros, depending on the airport. Passengers with a combatant ID (UBD) are eligible to participate in the program.

Why SkyUp launched this program: a word from the CEO

SkyUp™ CEO Dmytro Serokhov explained the rationale behind the initiative:

“For us, this is more than just a flight. We understand that for our military personnel and veterans, every journey often holds special significance — it could be a trip for medical treatment, a long-awaited vacation to visit family, or an opportunity to change their surroundings, even briefly, and recharge their strength. That is why we want to make this journey as easy and accessible as possible — as a sign of our gratitude and support for those who do so much for Ukraine every day.”

How the program works: seat quota and priority service

On every SkyUp™ scheduled flight, subject to availability, up to four tickets will be available at a special price — 1 euro plus airport fees. Combat veterans will receive priority service and support from the contact center to ensure a worry-free journey.

Important flexibility is also provided: if circumstances change and an official order to change vacation dates or a medical certificate is provided, the airline will change the flight dates free of charge.

How to get a ticket for 1 euro: step-by-step instructions

The ticket booking process is simple and takes very little time:

1. Contact the SkyUp™ team on Instagram or Facebook, or reach out to the contact center by phone or email.

2. Send a photo of your combat veteran ID to [email protected].

3. The support team will confirm seat availability within the quota for your selected flight and issue the ticket.

Where does SkyUp fly, and where is the airline based?

Currently, SkyUp™ operates flights from Chisinau Airport in Moldova. The regular flight schedule covers popular European destinations, including Spain, Greece, France, and other countries.

If you’re planning a trip to Chisinau to take advantage of SkyUp flights, it’s convenient to organize your entire itinerary—from departure from Ukraine to the Moldovan capital — through the Visit Ukraine platform, where you can book tickets for various modes of transportation in one place.

We remind you! Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has announced a record-breaking winter schedule from Bratislava—23 routes and four new destinations. Read where you can now fly from the Slovak capital and how to purchase tickets at a special price starting at 29.99 euros.
