Ukrainians can increase the amount of their pension payments thanks to various supplements and additional payments provided for by law. In particular, certain categories of citizens will be eligible in 2026 for an additional payment of nearly 1,300 hryvnias per month. Here’s who can receive this supplement and what documents must be submitted to apply for it.

Who Is Eligible for a Pension Supplement

According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the supplement is intended for non-working military pensioners who support family members who are unable to work.

The supplement may be granted to:

pensioners receiving a pension for length of service;

persons with disabilities whose pension is granted in accordance with the legislation on pension provision for military personnel.

Eligibility for the supplement arises only if the disabled relatives who are dependents of the pensioner do not receive any other government benefits.

Under what conditions is the supplement granted

In accordance with the law, the supplement may be granted if a person who is a dependent of a military pensioner does not receive:

an old-age pension or any other type of pension;

state social assistance for individuals not eligible for a pension;

social benefits for individuals with disabilities;

assistance for individuals with disabilities since childhood or for children with disabilities;

state child support for single mothers.

If a citizen is simultaneously eligible for multiple types of state support, they may choose only one of them.

What is the amount of the supplement in 2026?

The calculation of this supplement is governed by Law of Ukraine No. 2262-XII “On Pension Provision for Persons Discharged from Military Service and Certain Other Persons.”

According to the law, non-working military pensioners are paid a supplement equal to 50% of the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work, to support their incapacitated relatives.

In 2026, the subsistence minimum for this category of citizens is 2,595 UAH, so the allowance amounts to 1,297 UAH per month.

What documents must be submitted

To apply for the supplement, you must contact the local office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine and submit the appropriate application along with a set of documents.

Typically, the following are required:

Ukrainian passport;

taxpayer identification number (TIN);

documents confirming family relationships (birth certificate, marriage certificate, court decision, etc.);

documents confirming cohabitation and shared household;

proof that the pensioner is not employed and does not engage in any income-generating activities.

Where to Apply for the Supplement

You can submit your application in person at a Pension Fund of Ukraine service center or through the PFU’s online services, provided you have all the necessary documents.

Experts recommend checking in advance that the set of documents is complete to avoid delays in the application review process.

Please note that the Pension Fund of Ukraine regularly recalculates certain types of pensions and supplements, so citizens should stay informed about current changes in legislation and verify their eligibility for additional payments.

We remind you! The Ukrainian government has approved annual financial assistance ahead of the main national holiday. In 2026, veterans, people with disabilities, and the families of fallen defenders will be able to receive up to 3,100 hryvnias.
