Who is eligible for a grant of up to 216 thousand hryvnias?

War veterans who were discharged from military service after February 24, 2022, and have the status of combatant or person with a war-related disability are eligible to apply. Their family members — spouses, adult children, and parents — are also eligible to participate. Additionally, the grant program is available to family members of defenders of Ukraine who were killed in action or are missing in action.

During the selection process, preference will be given to applicants who:

● are veterans discharged after February 24, 2022;

● belong to the families of military personnel who were killed in action or are missing in action;

● have the status of an internally displaced person;

● are implementing socially significant business ideas;

● are engaged in the production of goods or the provision of services for vulnerable groups;

● are developing social entrepreneurship.

What are the conditions for participating in the grant program?

To participate, applicants must prepare a financial plan and submit an application by the deadline. Participants must also meet several mandatory requirements:

● belong to one of the specified participant categories;

● be prepared to verify their status with relevant documents;

● have a registered business at the time of application;

● actually operate a business within the Kharkiv region.

However, the program does not apply to business activities in communities where active hostilities are ongoing, where there are significant security risks, or where access is restricted. Specifically, this includes the communities of Bohodukhiv, Zolochiv, Derhachi, Lypets, Vovchansk, Vilkhuvate, Dvorichansk, Petropavlivka, Kindrashivka, Kupiansk, Kurylivka, Borivka, Tsyrkunivka, and Starosaltivka.

Another condition is that all activities related to implementing the business idea must be completed within no more than 60 calendar days.

The organizers note that entrepreneurs who have previously received funding from other government or international programs may participate in the competition. However, such participants will not receive any additional advantages during the selection process.

At the same time, applicants and their affiliated businesses that have already received business grants or financial assistance from the organization “People in Need” after February 24, 2022, are not eligible for the program.

What can the grant funds be used for?

Funding may be used for a wide range of business needs. Specifically, the grant can be used for:

● restoring damaged property and assets;

● purchasing equipment, tools, and raw materials;

● repairing and refurbishing premises;

● renting premises for up to two months;

● creating new jobs;

● employee training;

● marketing and advertising campaigns;

● legal and consulting services;

● other expenses necessary for implementing the business project.

How do I apply for a grant?

To participate in the program, you must review the guidelines for completing the documents, prepare a financial plan, and submit a grant application. The organizers also recommend watching the instructional videos for participants beforehand, which will help you prepare the documents correctly and avoid common mistakes when submitting your application. The application period runs through July 15, 2026.

When preparing your grant application, it is important to complete the documents and financial plan correctly and to take into account all the program organizers’ requirements.
