Ukrainian male students studying in foreign universities can no longer go abroad during martial law. This was reported by the spokesman of the State Border Service, Andriy Demchenko.
According to him, since September 14, the higher military leadership has canceled the possibility of male students crossing the Ukrainian border due to mass forgery of documents.
According to DPSU statistics, in July-August alone, about 600 people were found at the border who used forged documents about studying in foreign educational institutions.
Taking this into account, the spokesman of the border guards adds, the higher military leadership has made a new decision - from September 14, to cancel the possibility of passage even for this category of citizens.
Demchenko added that according to Government Resolution No. 57 of January 27, 1995, which regulates the Rules for crossing the state border by citizens of Ukraine, male students of foreign educational institutions are not included in the list of exceptions that are allowed to cross the border.
Previously, students who entered foreign universities before February 24 had the right to study abroad. To make such an exception, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi requested. That is why this category of students, according to the spokesperson of DPSU, was missed.
"At the moment, such a category as "students" cannot cross the border to leave Ukraine, until this is regulated separately by a government decision and changes are made to Resolution No. 57", - Demchenko explained.
