Important! Each case of need and use of medical care abroad is individual and can be considered separately by hospitals, insurers, or the legislation of a particular country. Here are average prices, which may vary depending on the country and clinic.
Is it difficult to choose an insurance company for health insurance abroad?
The existing healthcare systems in European countries and in most countries of the world are based on insurance. And health insurance policies purchased from bona fide insurers do indeed reimburse not only compensation for the treatment of injuries, burns, etc., but also cover most of the costs of an emergency ambulance (which, for example, in Germany, will cost 600 euros).
Health insurance abroad usually also covers the costs of scheduled treatment. This may include a visit to a specialist, basic procedures, some of the costs of rehabilitation, over-the-counter medications, etc. If we are talking about a planned operation while abroad, the insurer can cover from 10 to 35% of its cost.
Don't forget that you can also get health insurance while you are already abroad. We talked about this in this article.
All you have to do is choose an insurance company and a policy that suits your specific needs for traveling and staying in a particular country. But for an average person without knowledge of the insurance market and the nuances of health insurance, especially foreign health insurance, this may not be so easy. You need to collect information, analyze, compare, and most importantly, check the reputation of the insurance company.
