What is the visa application procedure?
You must apply for a visa to Algeria at a diplomatic mission. Each country and mission has slightly different application procedures, but the general steps include:
- Making an appointment at the Algerian consulate or embassy.
- Filling out a visa application form.
- Collecting the necessary documents.
- Submission of all documents to the embassy or consulate.
- Payment of the visa fee.
- Waiting for the visa to be processed.
- If the visa is approved, you will be contacted by a consulate/embassy officer to receive your passport with the visa attached. If you applied by mail, they will mail your passport with the visa affixed. Your visa indicates the date on which you will be allowed to enter the country.

What documents are required to enter Algeria?
- An original passport that must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Algeria. It must have at least one blank page for a visa.
- A completed and signed visa application form for entry to Algeria. If the applicant is a minor, the application form must be signed by one of the parents or legal guardian. The application form can be downloaded on the website of the consulate or embassy.
- Your passport-size photo. Dimensions: 35 mm x 45 mm.
- An invitation letter, which can be issued by the Algerian host (if you have one) or an Algerian travel agency. The letter of invitation must be notarized at the Algiers City Hall or at a notary's office.
- A copy of the identity card, passport or consular card of the host country (if any)
- Proof of financial resources in the form of a bank statement or payment receipts.
- Airline ticket or flight itinerary.
- If you are applying by mail, please enclose a pre-paid, self-addressed envelope for the embassy/consulate to return your passport and documents.
- Proof of payment of the visa fee to Algeria as required by the embassy/consulate.
