The cost of a tourist visa to Canada consists of two main fees.

• Consular fee: 100 Canadian dollars (CAD).
  
• Biometric fee: 85 CAD.

To enter Canada, you must have:

• A valid passport.
  
• A visa.
  
• Health insurance.
  
• No criminal record or violations of immigration rules.
  
• Provide evidence of your intention to return to your home country (e.g., job, real estate, financial obligations, or family ties).
  
• Have enough money to cover the expenses for the period of stay in Canada (the amount depends on the duration of the visit and living conditions).

The processing time for visa applications to Canada for Ukrainian citizens depends on the type of visa and individual circumstances of the applicant. Typically, tourist and visitor visas are processed within 5-10 business days. However, for student and work visas, this process can take from 4 to 6 weeks.

The Canada-Ukraine Emergency Travel Permit (CUAET) program closed the application process on July 15, 2023. The deadline for Ukrainians to enter Canada under the program was March 31, 2024.

However, Ukrainians already in Canada under this program can apply to extend their temporary status until March 31, 2026.

After the end of the CUAET program, which allowed Ukrainians to quickly and easily obtain a permit to enter Canada, the immigration procedure for Ukrainian citizens returned to standard conditions. This means that in order to enter Canada, you must obtain an appropriate visa that corresponds to the purpose of your stay: tourist, student, work or other.

The visa application process includes submitting an application, providing the necessary documents, undergoing biometric procedures and, if necessary, a medical examination.
