By car in Georgia
Prices depend on the season, car class, and region.
- Small city cars (economy): from $25-30 per day.
- Crossovers and SUVs: from $50-70 per day.
- SUVs for the mountains (4x4): from $80-120 per day.
💡 During the high season (May - September), prices can increase by 20-40%, and popular models are sold out a month before the trip.
Deposit
Most companies block from $200 to $500 on the card. After the car is returned without damage, the funds are unblocked within 3-14 days.
Insurance
- Basic CDW insurance is usually included in the price, but has a deductible (the amount you have to pay in case of damage) - usually $300-700.
- Super CDW - full insurance without a deductible or with a minimum amount. We strongly advise you to take it out if you are planning a mountain trip or want to minimize risks.
Georgia is a country with active road traffic, so even small scratches can be a surprise. Full insurance often saves your nerves.
Georgia has a variety of roads: from modern highways to narrow mountain trails where the asphalt disappears around a bend.
- There is a good highway between Tbilisi and Batumi, where you can comfortably drive at 90-110 km/h.
- Kakheti has nice flat roads among the vineyards.
- Svaneti and Khevsureti are a real challenge even for experienced drivers: narrow serpentines, stones, and sometimes no asphalt.
In villages, cows, goats or pigs often walk right on the road. So always be ready to brake.
- Cities: 60 km/h.
- Outside cities: 90 km/h.
- Highways: up to 110 km/h.
Alcohol: the permissible level is 0.3 ppm.

Parking
In major cities (Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi) there are paid municipal parking lots.

💡 Some hotels and apartments offer their own free parking spaces - check in advance.
Georgia is a country where something always happens on the roads. If you get into an accident:
1. Stop, turn on the hazard lights, put up a sign.
2. Call the police by dialing 112.
3. Notify the rental company and insurance company.
4. Take a lot of photos: of your car, other vehicles, driver's documents, and the general situation on the road.
5. Wait for the police to draw up an official report.
‼️ Without the police, the rental company may refuse to reimburse you even if you have insurance.
