Do Ukrainian citizens need a visa to travel to the Maldives?
Yes, Ukrainian citizens can apply for a visa upon arrival when traveling to the Maldives. The visa is issued at the point of entry into the country. To obtain a visa on arrival, you should confirm your reservation at one of the officially registered resorts of the above-mentioned island state.
Traveler's declaration
The Maldives has introduced the so-called electronic “Traveller Declaration”, which must be submitted electronically to the Maldives Migration Service 96 hours before arrival in the Maldives. You can fill out and submit the relevant declaration on the official website of the Migration Service by following the following link. The declaration is filled out for each tourist. After filling out the declaration, you will receive a QR code that you must print or save on your phone. Present it at passport control.
What documents are required?
- Be sure to have printed copies of the following: a voucher with confirmed accommodation, confirmed round-trip airline tickets, and a health insurance policy.
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your planned departure date from the Maldives. Your passport must have at least two blank pages for entry stamps.
Upon arrival
Upon arrival, you will be provided with a free 30-day visa known as a “tourist visa”.
This visa allows you to stay in the Maldives for up to 30 days for tourism, recreation and leisure purposes.
To obtain a visa upon arrival, you should confirm your reservation in one of the officially registered resorts of the aforementioned island state.

Can I extend my tourist visa to the Maldives?
Yes, you can extend your tourist visa to the Maldives upon arrival by applying to the Maldives Immigration Department in Male before the expiration of your current visa.
To apply, you must submit a visa extension application form at the main immigration office during official business hours. The Immigration Service will check whether you have the necessary financial means to cover the extended period of stay.
If your current visa is 30 days, you can get an extension for a maximum of 60 days, i.e. the total period of stay should not exceed 90 days.
To travel to the Maldives, please prepare the following documents:
- Passport or travel document with a validity of at least 1 month
- Prepaid hotel/accommodation reservation
- Availability of funds for the planned period of stay in the Maldives
- Confirmed round-trip tickets to the country of residence
- Traveler's Declaration, which must be completed and submitted by all travelers traveling to the Maldives within 96 hours before departure
