Practical tips for traveling with a child
1. Do not drink tap water! Even in large cities, water may contain bacteria that are not familiar to the European body. Buy bottled water and avoid ice in your drinks.
2. Avoid going outside at lunchtime (from 12:00 to 16:00), especially in summer. During this period, the temperature can exceed +40°C.
3. Marrakech does not have a subway, and public transportation is not always comfortable for families. An alternative is private transportation (for example, Careem or Bolt). If you plan to travel between cities, choose ONCF trains or comfortable CTM and Supratours buses. They have comfortable seats and air conditioning.
4. Moroccans are very fond of children. Get ready for people to stroke your child's head or joke with him or her - it is considered a sign of friendliness.
5. Pharmacy chains may not carry the medications you are familiar with. Bring essential medications with you:
- Antibiotics (if your doctor can prescribe them).
- Medications for stomach upset (e.g., smecta or enterosgel).
- Antihistamines.
- Medications for heat and dehydration (Rehydron, electrolyte solutions).
