Electronic visa (eVisa)

This visa is granted to Ukrainian citizens for the purpose of visiting, tourism, leisure, recreation, participation in a conference, humanitarian and charitable activities, family visits, medical treatment, or any other purpose that may be determined by the issuing authority. It is valid for a maximum of 90 days for one entry.

What is the procedure for filling out an eVisa application?

1. Visit the website of the Immigration Service
2. Click on the “Electronic Services” button;
3. Select and click the “Electronic Visa Application” button;
4. Upload and attach the scanned documents required to obtain a visa;
5. After that, the applicant will receive an email containing a user identification number (which can be used to track the application online);
6. After completing the visa application form, the applicant will have to pay a $50 fee;
7. After successful payment, the applicant submits his/her application;
8. Finally, the applicant will receive a message acknowledging receipt of his/her application.

Visa on arrival in Tanzania

This visa allows you to stay in Tanzania for up to 90 days.

Upon arrival, tourists will have to go through customs control, fill out migration cards, give fingerprints and get a stamp in their passports.

To travel to Tanzania, please prepare the following documents:

• Passport (passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in the country)

• 50 USD in cash to pay for the visa at the airport (if necessary)
  
• Visa fee payment receipt for e-visa
  
• Filled in (can be handwritten) in English application form and migration card (if required)

Starting from October 1, to enter Zanzibar, you need to have local travel insurance from the state-owned Zanzibar Insurance Corporation.

It must be purchased in advance, costs $44, and is valid for 92 days. You need to buy a local insurance policy even if you already have your own travel insurance.

How much money do you need to enter Tanzania in 2026?

Tanzanian entry rules do not specify a mandatory minimum amount of funds. When crossing the border, border services may check that you have sufficient financial resources.

Transit visa
This visa may be issued to foreign nationals for the purpose of transit travel to another destination outside the United Republic for a period not exceeding seven days. The applicant for this visa may be required to provide proof of a visa from the country of destination and/or a return flight ticket.

How to apply for a visa online?

1. Visit the website of the Immigration Service;

Free importation
- Free importation by passengers over 17 years of age:
- One pack of cigarettes containing 200 sticks, cigars, tobacco and snuff weighing no more than 250 grams;
- One liter of whiskey and spirits;
- Two liters of wine;
- Perfume and eau de toilette not exceeding half a liter, of which no more than a quarter may be perfume, i.e. (125 ml of perfume and 375 ml of eau de toilette);
- Personal and household items
- Goods worth up to $500.

Restricted
- Pets: A health certificate from a competent veterinarian is required. All pets are subject to inspection upon arrival and will be quarantined for a period of time. Dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies. Dogs: not older than 3 years and 6 months before arrival. Cats: no later than 1 year and 1 month before arrival.
- A phytosanitary certificate is required for plants and products of plant origin. For fruits, an additional declaration is required that Xanthomonas citri (Hasse) Dowson has not been found in the country of origin.
- Weapons and ammunition - only with permission.
- Medicines
- For video and cinema equipment, radios, tape recorders and musical instruments, a deposit may be required to guarantee that the goods will be taken back.
