The war in Ukraine continues, and it would seem that the world is gradually getting used to russian aggression, but 64% of the adult population in 28 countries of the world continue to follow news about the war, and 48% support the provision of weapons to Ukraine. Such data was published by the international research company Ipsos Group.

Time passes very quickly and we are almost approaching the anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine. The platform conducted a survey that made it possible to trace the mood of the world population and their attitude to the war in Ukraine.

The results show that people's opinion about the war has hardly changed in a year, and the majority of citizens still show great support for Ukraine. 19,003 people aged 18 to 75 from 28 countries of the world, including the USA, Turkey, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Ukraine and other countries, took part in the survey.

How does the world feel about the war in Ukraine today?

The majority of people (70%), regardless of their country of residence, expect support from their state in the event of russian aggression spreading to other countries. 71% of the world's population believes that their country should avoid direct intervention in the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine.

53% of citizens agree with the increase in gas and fuel prices due to sanctions against russia, because this is the only way to protect the independence of your country. 40% of respondents believe that sanctions against russia are necessary to support Ukraine. Only 25% of people believe that sanctions against russia are not worth the economic impact they have on their country.

At the same time, the so-called "weariness" of the world from the war in Ukraine is observed. 66% of people agree that their country should accept and support refugees, which is 7 points less than at the beginning of the war. At the same time, the number of people who believe that the war in Ukraine is not the problem of other countries and there is no need to interfere in it has increased by 3 points. This opinion is held by 42% of humanity.

Most of the countries of the world, in particular the members of the EU and NATO, as well as Australia, believe that sanctions on the import of russian gas and oil are important, regardless of the increase in prices and problems with heating. This opinion is held by the majority in all 13 countries, except for Hungary.

It is also noted that the majority of citizens living in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands and Poland fully support the provision of weapons and air defense systems to the Ukrainian military to win this terrible war.

How many people around the world continue to support Ukraine and want to bring our victory closer?

Even a year after the start of the war, 64% of the world's population still closely follows the news about the war in Ukraine. For comparison, 82% of humanity closely follows news about rising prices, and 70% - about climate change. The only region of the world where attention to war has significantly decreased is Latin America. At that time, among residents of the USA and NATO countries, there is only a slight decrease in attention by 5 points.

The world's attitude towards russia does not change, and therefore 66% of citizens around the world agree that russia does not have the right to participate in various international sports competitions.

At the same time, 63% of humanity supports the opinion that the inaction of other countries in the situation of a military conflict in Ukraine can lead to the spread of russian aggression to other regions of the world.

On average, 45% of residents of the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Great Britain and all EU countries, except Hungary and Italy, support the idea of applying the most severe economic sanctions against russia.

Over the year, the number of people, in particular in France, Germany, Poland and Japan, who believe that due to inflation and a difficult economic situation, their country is unable to provide constant support to Ukraine has increased.

Willingness to accept refugees fleeing war in their homeland is highest in Great Britain - 81%, Netherlands - 80% and Sweden -79%. In general, 66% of humanity still supports the acceptance of Ukrainians fleeing the war in their country. However, since the beginning of the war, support on this issue has decreased by at least six points in each of the 10 European Union countries surveyed - the most in Germany and Belgium, as well as in the United States.

How does the world feel about the intervention of other countries in the war in Ukraine?

71% of people around the world agree with the statement that their country should avoid direct intervention in war. It is also noted that so far not a single country has been identified, the majority of whose population supports the introduction of its troops into Ukraine.

At the same time, only 40% of citizens support maintaining diplomatic relations with russia. In particular, this opinion prevails among residents of Indonesia (73%), India (66%) and Turkey (62%).

What do citizens of other countries think about providing military aid to Ukraine?

People in Western countries agree to provide military aid to Ukraine.

As a result of the survey of 12 NATO countries, the following results were obtained:

• 44% would agree with the transfer of their country's troops to NATO member countries neighboring Ukraine, and only 31% - against. In Hungary, Italy, Turkey and Germany, there is a majority of people who do not agree with this opinion.

• 48% support the provision of weapons and air defense systems to the Ukrainian military, while only 29% are against. The highest level of support is observed in Great Britain - 63%, and in the USA - 54%.
