As it has become known, the majority of new individual entrepreneurs (IEs) registered in Ukraine in 2023 are women. Thus, since the beginning of this year, women in Ukraine have founded 154 thousand new sole proprietorships and have been appointed as heads of more than 10 thousand new companies. Therefore, the government is now trying to support women who are starting out in business as much as possible.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Ukraine is launching a new educational and grant program for women entrepreneurs called Start. We will tell you more about it and what grants Ukrainian women can receive in the article below.

What does the educational and grant program for women entail?

The Pochatok program includes:

- online and offline training in marketing, sales, financial planning, digital transformation, service, and pricing strategy

- consultations with leading psychologists;

- mentoring support from experts.

The online training program is designed for 4 weeks (12 classes). At the same time, 300 of the most effective women will receive an invitation to participate in offline support, which will last for 6 weeks (18 lectures: 9 on business and 9 psychological sessions).

The grant program website notes that participation in the project will be useful for those:

- who only dream of owning their own business;

- those who want to make their existing business more sustainable and resilient to challenges

- those who have been forced to change their homes and lives because of the hostilities.

Who can get a grant for their own business?

The announcement states that 200 of the brightest participants will be able to receive $3,000 (up to UAH 100,000) to develop their own business, and two participants with the best projects will receive an additional $5,000 (up to UAH 185,000).
