Slovakia extends temporary protection for Ukrainians: updated terms

The Slovak government has decided to extend temporary protection to Ukrainian refugees. This decision provides Ukrainians with the opportunity to continue using social services and state support. Read more about the new terms of legal stay in the article
Citizens of Ukraine who have found refuge in Slovakia have been given the opportunity to extend their benefits for another year. The relevant resolution was adopted by the Government of the country, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine reports on Telegram.

Slovakia extends temporary protection for Ukrainians: details
"The Government of Slovakia has decided to extend the period of temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until March 4, 2025," the statement reads.
According to the agency, this decision was made in response to the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend the period of asylum for Ukrainian citizens.
As you know, the temporary protection status allows asylum seekers to work in Slovakia, receive secondary and higher education, have access to medical care and housing, and is entitled to financial assistance if necessary.
