The Verkhovna Rada may soon consider the bill No. 9564, which provides for increased liability for violation of traffic rules, namely the level of car noise. We tell you who should be tense and what fines are planned to be introduced.

New rules of car noise level

The purpose of the bill is to improve administrative responsibility for violation of the rules of driving or operating vehicles with exceeding the permissible noise level.

The Parliament wants to make changes to the common practice of interfering with the exhaust system of cars, which leads to an increase in the noise level from the operation of engines.

It is about the so-called "straight-through mufflers", "dual sport systems" and other technical products that are not taken into account in the design of vehicles and produced by manufacturers and are considered as factors of violation of silence and peace of citizens, which causes public discontent.

The Verkhovna Rada notes that the sounds emitted by such vehicles are unacceptable in war conditions, as they may be confused with Russian kamikaze drones.

The bill was initiated by the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arahamiya. The document had been under consideration in the Transport and Infrastructure Committee since August. However, at the end of February it was included in the agenda of Parliament and may be considered in the near future, writes RBC-Ukraine.

What fines do they want to introduce?

According to the potential new rules:

- for the first offence there is a fine of UAH 17,000;

- for a repeated offence - UAH 34,000.

The option of deprivation of rights is also considered.
