According to the Ministry of Health, pregnant Ukrainian women who are currently abroad have the right to receive medical reports without a personal examination by a doctor. Ukrainian doctors can form conclusions for pregnant patients on the basis of foreign medical documents that confirm the fact of a woman's pregnancy or childbirth.

It is important that a Medical opinion on temporary incapacity for work can be drawn up both by the family doctor with whom the woman has a declaration, and by any other specialist who has the right to issue a medical opinion in this category.

How to apply for maternity leave for Ukrainian women abroad?

- After the 30th week of pregnancy, the pregnant patient must send to the doctor (by mail or messenger) foreign medical documents translated into the national language and notarized, which indicate the date of pregnancy. On the basis of these documents, the Ukrainian doctor will form a medical opinion on temporary incapacity for work.

- If childbirth has already taken place - the doctor forms a medical opinion on temporary incapacity from the date of childbirth also on the basis of data from foreign medical documents, which are translated into the state language and notarized.

- In case of complicated childbirth or if a woman has given birth to several children, the doctor must issue a medical opinion for 140 calendar days, not 126.
