National Museum of History of Ukraine - visit the best museums in Ukraine
At the moment, this museum is considered the leading historical museum and one of the largest in Ukraine. The museum's collections include more than 800,000 exhibits: archaeological collections, ethnographic collections, collections of weapons and coins, samples of decorative and applied arts, manuscripts and the first printed samples. The history of the museum dates back to 1899, when it was called the Museum of Antiquities and Arts. The museum's branch, the Treasury of the National Museum of History of Ukraine, contains the most valuable examples of Ukrainian jewellery over the past millennium.

Lviv National Gallery of Art named after Voznytskyi - original museums of Ukraine conquer Europe
Lviv is home to the largest art museum in Ukraine, which has collected more than 60,000 exhibits. They can date back to antiquity - some of them are more than 2000 years old. The most popular exhibits are collections of European art paintings, samples of Lviv sculpture and Ukrainian portrait art of the 16th-19th centuries, and collections of icons from Ukrainian churches made in various styles. The museum has been operating for more than a century - the first exhibition in 1907 was the collection of I. Yakovych, a sugar magnate from Podillia. Currently, the museum consists of 16 departments that function as separate complexes and cover the history of Ukraine and Europe over the centuries.

The National Museum of Literature of Ukraine is a unique museum that you should definitely see in 2025
At the moment, this museum is a centre for the study of literary heritage. Currently, visitors are presented with more than 85,000 exhibits, including lifetime editions of Ivan Kotliarevsky, Taras Shevchenko, Mykola Kostomarov, Ivan Franko, manuscripts by Lesya Ukrainka, Pavlo Tychyna, Maksym Rylsky, and many other Ukrainian writers. Here, tourists can also see the library of Pavlo Halahan, which was preserved almost in its original form.

Lviv Historical Museum ‘Arsenal’ is one of the best museums in Lviv
The museum, which has 380,000 exhibits, is of national and international importance. One of the oldest museums in Ukraine has many areas of expertise: numismatics, orders and medals, fabrics, metal products, leather and horn weapons, sculptures, wood exhibits, archival materials, sphragistics, collections of insignia, archaeological achievements, the heritage of Kyivan Rus, collections of photographic materials, glassware, porcelain and clay, collections of rare books (including old prints and manuscripts), posters and graphic images, reproductions of paintings and original paintings, collections of weapons, watches and musical instruments, memorabilia of the liberation struggle and lists of Honorary Citizens. A special place is occupied by exhibits dedicated to the history of Lviv.

The Museum of Easter Egg Painting is a unique museum in Ukraine that has no analogues
The museum in Kolomyia is known worldwide primarily for its 13-metre-high building in the shape of a pysanka egg. This extraordinary architecture has become the hallmark of the entire city. Initially (it opened in 1987), the museum was located in the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in the 16th century. At the moment, tourists can see a collection of more than 12,000 Easter eggs from all regions of Ukraine and many countries of the world, including Poland, the Czech Republic, the USA, Sri Lanka, China, and Egypt.

Pirogovo Open Air Museum is the best museum to visit in Ukraine
The Pirogovo Open Air Museum is an architectural and landscape complex of all historical and ethnographic regions of Ukraine: Polissia, Slobozhanshchyna, Poltava, the Carpathians, Naddniprianshchyna, Podillia, and the South. Today, the museum has about 300 monuments of folk architecture dating back to the 16th-20th centuries: houses, barns, wells and other buildings of the ancient Ukrainian village. The oldest architectural exhibit is a hut from the village of Samara, Volyn region (1587).

Hutsul Citizenship Museum promotes cultural tourism in Ivano-Frankivsk region
In 1955, a museum was built in the village of Kryvorivnia to recreate the Hutsul ethnic house, the hrazhda. Visually, the hut looks like a small fortress: a fence has been erected around the house and outbuildings, which can only be accessed through a gate that is locked at night. The interior of the hut is also traditional: two rooms separated by haylofts.

The Roman Kumlyk Museum is a unique set of musical instruments that can be seen only in Ukraine
Roman Kumlyk is the first director of the world-famous Cheremosh ensemble, which originated in Verkhovyna. In 2000, the musician opened this museum in his family estate on the basis of materials collected over 30 years. Among them are household items, tools, and banknotes of different times. Tourists should pay special attention to the collection of musical instruments, including ancient ones (for example, the horn) and ceremonial ones (trembita). The tours are conducted by Natalia Huzak, Roman Kumlyk's daughter.
