Tour programme:

Day 1: Lake Nesamovite

At 08:00 the group gathers at the central railway station of Yaremche or Ivano-Frankivsk. From here we go by bus/car to the starting point of the tourist base Zaroslyak. At first, our route goes through a spruce forest. As you gain height, the forest becomes thinner and the alpine zone begins. After a while, the trail leads us to the mysterious Lake Nesamovyte, shrouded in Hutsul legends and tales. The lake is located in a glacial cirque (depression) on the eastern slopes of Mount Turkul, at an altitude of 1750 m above sea level, having a length of 90 metres, a width of 50 metres and a depth of 1.5 metres. The name of the lake is probably due to the fact that the weather changes very often during the day.

There is an ancient Hutsul belief that if you throw a stone into the lake, you can bring a terrible bad weather, bringing with it a squally wind and heavy rain. The Hutsuls also believe that if an unmarried girl or boy takes a dip in the lake, they will definitely find a mate within a year. We set up camp for the night near the lake.

Day 2: Lake Brebeneskul

From Nesamovyty we go to the crest of the main ridge, and to the left of the route we can see the eastern slope of the Spire peak. It is marked by the extraordinary picturesqueness of the rocks, reminiscent of Gothic architecture - high spiky protrusions with many branches, nests, balconies, and recesses. From the saddle, after the Rebra peak (2001 m), we reach Gutyn-Tomnatyk (2016 m). From the bridge we admire the beautiful Lake Brebeneskul and the surrounding unique landscapes. Depending on the weather conditions and physical condition of the participants, we return via the Maryshevska valley or the same way.
