Not many people still know the fact that Ivano-Frankivsk (and at that time Stanyslaviv) managed to visit the capital in 1919 (January-May) during the Ukrainian-Polish war. Familiarity with the Stanislaviv of that time begins with the largest monument to Ivan Franko, located near the Nadiya Hotel. Walk along the pedestrianized Independence Street, where colorful cafes and restaurants are located. The Union Hotel, which hosted prominent politicians of the time, and the Dniester Hotel, where they made fateful historical decisions. The Palace of Bishops and the seminary of the Stanislaviv Diocese of the Greek Catholic Church, the central building of the Medical Academy built in the eclectic style with a courtyard where the city was governed, a cozy and small square with a monument to Adam Mickiewicz. The central square of the city, Rynok Square, with its decoration and the highest point of the city, the Town Hall, the city court, which housed the government of the ZUNR, which was creating the young Ukrainian state of Galicia. During the tour, you will visit the churches, the Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection, which is decorated with a five-tiered iconostasis, the Armenian Church and the synagogue.
