About this tour
Excursion from Lviv to Rohatyn
and Ivano-Frankivsk.
We leave Lviv at 9:00 a.m. (it
is possible at 8:00 a.m. or even earlier) and we go first to the city of
Rohatyn, the birthplace of Roksolana (Hyurrem Sultan).
It takes us only 1.5 hours to
get to this first stop. At this time, you can listen to the tour guide's
stories about the villages and towns of the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions
that our route will pass.
In the city of Rohatyn, we
will explore the interior of the Church of the Holy Spirit (XVI century), which
is included in the UNESCO list. This unique temple is considered the oldest
wooden church preserved in our country. This monument, which now works as a
museum, is also called Roksolana's church, because there is a version that her
father worked here as a priest.
Next, about 1 hour, we go to
the regional center of Ivano-Frankivsk region. In the ancient city of Stanislav
or Stanislaviv (now Ivano-Frankivsk), we have planned a walking and bus
excursion, during which we will see: the medieval Market Square, the Town Hall,
the Armenian Church, the Philharmonic, the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ
(Jesuit Church), the Collegiate Church, the memorial monuments to Adam
Mickiewicz and the Plastuns, the banking quarter, Nezalezhnosti Street (one
hundred meters), Hartenberg Passage, defensive bastion, monument to Ivan Franko
and many other interesting objects of the city. We will also go to the middle
of the temples, the bastion, we can climb the tower of the Town Hall.
During the tour of
Ivano-Frankivsk, we will take a break for lunch. At the end of the tour, there
is free time to buy souvenirs and sweets.
At approximately 17:00, we
leave the hospitable city of Ivano-Frankivsk and head for Lviv. Along the route
(usually in the city of Burshtyn), we take a break for dinner. We arrive in
Lviv at approximately 20:00.
The length of the route of
this excursion with the return to Lviv is approximately 280 km.
