"My" Ivan Franko or ALWAYS REAL

Lviv is the city where Ivan Franko lived forty out of sixty years of his life. Also, it is simply impossible to bypass the topic of relations between Kamenyar and our city. And we will start our excursion from the end of the summer of 1875, when the 19-year-old graduate of the Drohobytskyi Gymnasium first set foot on Lviv cobblestones. What was the purpose of his arrival? What did he look like? And what did Lviv look like at that time?

During the excursion, we will drive through familiar streets, but with completely different stories. Near the Cathedral of St. George, we will talk about relations with Sheptytskyi, on Franka Street - about the upbringing of "franchats", which is not traditional for Galician society. We will see one of the first addresses where he lived as a young student and Frank's last residence in Lviv. In general, 16 houses in Lviv have plaques in honor of Franko, so many residents of our city consider him the owner of these tenements and a rich man. And how was it really? And you will also learn about Frank's favorite coffee shop, about the theater in which he received the laurel wreath of fame, about the university building where he gave his habilitation lecture, about the house near which he was almost shot. You will hear in whose vyshyvanka he was buried and how many hours it took to lay wreaths at the Kamenyar monument in 1933. And, of course, we will pay tribute to the Ukrainian genius at his grave.
