After massive Russian missile strikes on October 10-11, over 30,000 people left Ukraine overnight. 19,000 of them left for Poland.

The EU said that the flow of refugees from Ukraine has decreased recently, but for now Europe needs to prepare for a new wave. This opinion was expressed by the commissioner of the German government on migration, Rome Alabali-Radavan.

In addition to Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic should be ready for an increase in the flow of Ukrainian refugees.

The Polish government has declared that it is ready to accept a new wave of Ukrainian refugees.

"We are always ready, our borders are open, and we are also logistically ready to receive refugees. If the need arises, of course, as was the case in February and all the time, Ukrainian citizens will find support and a place, a roof over their heads, and a job with us", - emphasized the Minister of Family and Social Policy of Poland, Marlena Malong.

She also noted that accepting refugees is a significant expense, but Poland is ready to support Ukraine in the future.

"This is a war not only for the freedom of Ukraine, but also for the position of the world, Europe and Poland, which is a border state", - she said.

At the same time, it was recently emphasized in Poland that from the middle of November, accommodation in mass accommodation centers for refugees will be paid for. Ukrainians will pay 50% of the cost themselves.

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and the Government Commissioner for Refugees reported that Poland cannot cover all the expenses related to the maintenance of refugees, so the authorities are forced to introduce payment. Find out here whether all refugees will be forced to pay for housing.
