Moldova simplified entry rules for Ukrainians: details and validity period
Moldova has introduced temporary new rules for Ukrainians crossing the border with Romania, arriving at the airport and returning to Ukraine.
According to the Order of the Emergency Situations Commission of the Republic of Moldova dated December 22, 2022 No. 55 from December 23, 2022 to February 1, 2023, a simplified regime for crossing the Moldovan state border was introduced for Ukrainian citizens.
Simplification applies to:
- entry into Moldova through checkpoints on the Moldovan-Romanian border;
- arrival in Moldova at "Chisinau International Airport";
- departure from the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine.
What documents are required to enter Moldova or return to Ukraine?
In such cases, crossing the border will be allowed on the basis of an ID card, an internal passport, as well as other identity documents (identity card of a citizen of Ukraine, issued by the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova, temporary identity card issued by the Migration Bureau, driver's license, residence permit , military card, etc.). Crossing the border is also allowed if there are copies of these documents, documents in electronic format, or documents whose validity period has expired.
Children can enter Moldova with a birth certificate.
We will remind you that previously these documents were sufficient only in case of entry into Moldova from the territory of Ukraine.
