Ukrainian citizens in Israel have the opportunity to stay in the country legally until the end of the war. This statement was made by Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

Ukrainians in Israel: details

The ambassador emphasized that new refugees from Ukraine are not currently arriving en masse in the country, their number is insignificant. Moreover, a significant number of Ukrainians are returning to their homeland from both Europe and Israel.

He noted that anyone who wishes to stay can legally reside in Israel until the end of the war.

How many Ukrainian citizens are currently living in Israel?

According to Brodsky, at the beginning of the war there was a significant wave of Ukrainian refugees. The most critical situation was observed in February and March, when Ukrainians fled en masse to other countries.

In total, more than 15,000 people remain in Israel today. All of them remain in Israel legally, and as long as the war continues, their presence in the country will not be limited, the Ambassador emphasized.

At the same time, Israel continues to accept repatriates, i.e. people returning to their homeland from other countries. This program has not ceased to function because of the war, and it is still available to Jews and their families.

Since the outbreak of the full-scale conflict, Israel has accepted several thousand repatriates, and despite the war, the country continues to fulfill its obligations to Ukrainian citizens by providing them with legal residence.

Israel's repatriation program is an important mechanism for supporting Ukrainian citizens who wish to return home. Israel supports repatriates by providing them with the necessary assistance and resources for successful re-equipment and inclusion in Ukrainian society.

We remind you! Ukrainians continue to return home despite enemy shelling. In order to make your arrival home stress-free and without fuss with documents, you should settle all your affairs in the country where you lived in advance. Here's what you need to do before coming to Ukraine.
