Kremlin propagandist or failed comedian: how Ilon Musk got into scandal again by insulting Zelenskyy
The head of SpaceX Ilon Musk published a meme about the Ukrainian president on the platform "X". The publication clearly has a thin line between a bad joke and an insult. Find out more about what it is about and how social network users reacted to it
The American billionaire Elon Musk has recently been increasingly involved in various scandals due to his actions and comments on Ukraine. People have not yet forgotten Musk's misdeed of disconnecting Starlink for the Ukrainian military, as the head of SpaceX has embarrassed himself again by posting a meme on social media with a bad joke about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Let's figure out what happened and why the businessman has begun to play along with russian propaganda more often.
How did Musk undermine his reputation once again?
The American billionaire, who is known to have bought out the social network Twitter and changed its name to "X," today published a meme depicting the Ukrainian leader and signed it as follows: "When five minutes have passed and you haven't asked for a billion dollars in aid."

The businessman's post received a lot of comments in the first seven hours, most of which consisted of negative reactions or condemnations.
Reactions from users and even Ukrainian politicians
Thousands of negative comments were written under Musk's post, but we have selected some of them that showed how much the tweet did not "go over" with users.
For example, one user posted a photoshopped image of Musk in the uniform of an officer of the russian Armed Forces.
Another user attached a photo of Musk hugging putin and sitting on a horse with him.
The provocative tweet by the American billionaire was not ignored by Ukrainian politicians. Thus, the head of the parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, wrote: "The case when a dude tried to conquer space, but something went wrong and in 5 minutes he was up to his ears in shit."
Serhiy Leshchenko, an advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, intellectually put the businessman in his place: "You are trolling the leader of the Ukrainian people, who is fighting for their independence, as the founding fathers of your nation did. Is this what Ukrainians are standing for in these crucial days?"
An interesting detail was also noticed by the monitoring group PressMonitor, which pointed out to Musk that he had recently asserted that there was no pro-russian propaganda on the social network.
Meanwhile, the British media company BBC called Musk's meme about the president of Ukraine "bordering on insulting."

Why is Musk clearly playing along with the Kremlin?
This is not to say that Elon Musk, the founder of the most famous companies in the space and engineering sectors, can suffer from a low level of intelligence. However, there are obviously reasons for this unconventional behavior, to put it mildly.
Speaking of the businessman's political views, he used to prefer to support the Democratic Party, but before the midterm elections in 2022, he said he had changed his mind and would now vote for the Republicans.
He explained this by saying that the Democratic Party had allegedly become a party of "division and hatred," although he could not substantiate his views.
Given Musk's political "mid-air shuffle," we can say that his support for the Republicans is currently one of the main reasons for the businessman's strange statements about Ukraine and Ukrainian politicians, as some representatives of the US Democratic Party are known to be directly in favor of cutting aid to Ukraine.
In addition, Musk has repeatedly been the subject of sympathy from the russian dictator and other russian officials.
For example, after Elon Musk admitted that he had foiled a Ukrainian attack on the russian Black Sea Fleet in 2022, russian president putin called the billionaire a talented and outstanding person.
In addition, the American businessman was reported to have communicated with the leader of russia during the war in Ukraine and then promoted his "peace plan" in the political arena.
Given all these facts, it is possible that Musk may feel some sympathy for russia and its leadership, although he has not directly stated this. However, the facts of communication with Ukraine's enemies and positive statements by the russian authorities about Elon Musk can speak for themselves.
