American businessman Elon Musk cannot whitewash his reputation on the world stage. The billionaire is once again caught in a scandal over Hamas' attack on Israel. Here's what's going on and what threatens the SpaceX owner now.

Thus, the European Union sent a letter to Elon Musk, which reads as follows:

"Following the terrorist attacks committed by Hamas against Israel, we have reason to believe that your platform is being used to spread illegal content and disinformation in the EU."

As explained by the EU, Elon Musk's social media platform has been spreading fake and manipulative images and facts, including old images of armed conflicts that have nothing to do with Israel or footage that was actually taken in video games.

Has Elon Musk become Europe's No. 1 digital enemy?

The American publication Politico writes that Elon Musk became the main enemy of European society after the Hamas attack on Israel, as social network X was filled with gruesome images, politically motivated lies and terrorist propaganda, which, according to the authorities, violate both social network policy and the laws of the European Union.

What does Musk face now?

The SpaceX CEO now faces sanctions, including large fines, as officials in Brussels begin collecting evidence to prepare for a formal investigation into whether Social Network X violated European Union rules. The UK and German authorities have joined the criticism.

At the same time, it is emphasized that Musk will try to fight off any allegations that he failed to become a responsible owner of the social network, and will also remain committed to freedom of speech.

Not the first scandal with Musk

It is well known that Elon Musk is not known for his positive reputation. He began to have problems with this after he spoke out several times about the war in Ukraine in an extraordinary way.

It has also recently become known that the head of SpaceX disrupted the operation of the Ukrainian military in the russian-occupied Crimea. At the same time, the US government criticized Musk and decided to take control of Starlink satellites used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As for other scandals, a little over a week ago, the SpaceX CEO was criticized online after he posted an unfortunate meme about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Musk's post was so inappropriate that the well-known BBC called it "a fine line between a bad joke and an insult."

As a reminder, the publication featured a photo of the Ukrainian leader with the following caption: "When five minutes have passed and you haven't asked for a billion dollars in aid."
