One of the conditions for driving a car abroad is the availability of a civil liability insurance policy for vehicle owners or a motor vehicle owner.
Usually, before traveling, most drivers take out a green card policy, but if you live in the country for a long time, you can also think about buying a car insurance policy from a local insurance company.

What is a green card insurance policy?
"Green card" is an international insurance policy that is valid in 47 countries of the world, mainly in EU member states.
In terms of the set of risks it covers, the "green card" is similar to a car license, only it works abroad: in the event of an accident, the insurance company compensates for damages that can be caused by a car that has a "green card" policy. This means that if you hit someone else's car abroad, the insurance will pay out money to the second participant in the accident (compensating for damage to property and health).
What is a foreign company's auto civil?
Insurance companies in most countries of the world offer residents to take out a national auto civil policy for their cars. Its effect extends within the country of residence. Damages that are compensated by insurance are similar to the "green card" - damage caused to the property or health of the second participant in the road accident.

Why is it better to buy a green card in Ukraine, rather than a foreign company's driver's license?
It is much more profitable to buy a "green card" in Ukraine, because the cost of a 1-year policy is about 200 euros, while an annual civil policy in Poland will cost from 400 euros, and in Germany - from 900 euros.
Another important plus is that the "green card" covers all European countries and, if necessary, you can travel to another country without additional costs.
Is it possible to purchase a green card while abroad?
In Ukraine, you can buy "green card" insurance or extend its validity while abroad, because the entire procedure is available online, and the ready policy will be sent to your email address. Just keep in mind that the policy will be valid only 1 day after registration.
How to issue a green card insurance policy?
You can take out a Green Card policy from a licensed insurer on the Visit Ukraine portal. Packages are available for 15 days, 1 or 6 months or a year.
Registration procedure (all information is filled in Latin):
● Select the period you are interested in, the type of vehicle, then select the date the insurance starts.
● Enter information about the car: license plate number, car make and model, year of manufacture, city of registration, VIN code and country of destination.
● Enter your contact details: full name, contact number, passport details, date of birth, residential address, TIN and email address.
● Confirm the entered information.
● Pay for your insurance policy, many options are available: Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, American Express, UnionPay or crypto payment.
In 10 minutes, a policy that will cover all damages caused to the life, health and property of third parties is already in your mail.
It is better to print the policy, because each country has its own requirements, and someone may refuse to accept only an electronic form.
Is it possible to save money when applying for a green card?

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
