Special curfew rules in 2026

In the winter of 2026, temporary relaxations of the curfew were in effect in Ukraine due to risks in the energy sector. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a corresponding decision, allowing regional military administrations to flexibly change restrictions during emergencies.

In particular, in Kyiv and Kyiv region, the curfew remained from 00:00 to 05:00, but residents were allowed to move at night in exceptional cases - for example, when traveling to "Invincibility Points" or when returning home from a night train. Businesses that are registered as "Invincibility Points" were also allowed to operate during this time.

Similar relaxations were also in effect in Mykolaiv region. The authorities noted that the police could be more loyal to people seeking warmth or heading to safe places.

As of April 2026, such relaxations are not applied, however, the mechanism for their introduction is preserved and can be used again if necessary.
